Looking for studios

We’ve been looking for studios to record the album. My friend Matthew Halsall suggested we get in touch with Ben Nostalgia 77 as he does some engineering work at a studio in Dollis Hill that might be good for us. Today we went to check it out and ITS AMAZING! Its perfect. I still dont really feel like a proper musician yet so I am totally intimidated by swanky, plush studios in Mayfair that have so much space that even a tall bird like me feels tiny. There’s wood everywhere. Old wood. One of my favourite things. I love the smell of old wood. I find it romantic. Its got a massive live room filled with pianos, organs, a drum kit, old skool bass and guitar amps and all the other great things you’d expect in a studio of such aceness.

We fell for it and so we booked it and guess what, Ben said that he would be up for engineering it. I nearly shat, except that wouldn’t have been very cool so I contained myself, thanked him with an air of nonchalance, left the room and secretly rubbed my knuckles together really fast to try and disperse of some of the excitement. I get the feeling that he is the kind of person that wouldn’t be horrified by the site of me running around whilst making weird noises out of my mouth and rubbing my knuckles together, but this is the kind of thing I feel I should introduce gradually. Some of my best friends haven’t even seen me do that yet. Mainly because I know that its weird.
