Shuga Buddha

Today we had our first proper gig at the Bedford in Balham. I love the Bedford. Its the home of OneTaste and I feel comfortable there. The soundcheck went well. Roberto as always was ace! Michael Kiwanuka was playing before us. He is SO good. I LOVE his stuff, its so beautiful and warm and I totally dig it. Then it was our turn to test out some of the arrangements for the album. Everything was going smoothly until 3 tunes in where I manage to sing in a different key to what everyone else was playing in. Ace! I dont know why it happens but it happened the last time we played it live with the full band. I cant work out why. My ears are super sensitive and I think perhaps as soon as we plug the guitar in to an amp I can hear more frequencies than I would do normally and so sing a third above what Im supposed to be singing. Last time I managed to style it out but this time I totally ballsed up and then forgot the bloody words to the second verse. Abi tried to help me but my brain refused to save me so I just started singing any old thing until I found my place again and then we were back. What the hell is up with that shit? Pisses me off. The next two songs felt wicked though because all my nerves had gone. Id already ballsed up horrifically and so there was no longer anything to worry about. My band are amazing. I do love them so.
